LAUNCH OF AKKG@ETKO

AKKG are pleased to announce that we will be launching a brand new timetable of kickboxing classes out of ETKO Sports Academy, North Mains of Barra, Oldmeldrum, AB51 OBB.

Founded in 2016, ETKO Sports Academy www.etkosportsacademy.co.uk offers a modern, purpose built sports facility complete with state of the art equipment and well established sports academy programmes specialising in all levels of gymnastics and wrestling, from early age up to competitive level.

Perfectly complimenting AKKG’s philosophy that the martial arts world is ever evolving, AKKG hope that AKKG@ETKO will present exciting opportunities for our students to learn a range of different styles and approaches including, of course, from ETKO’s very own Vio Etko – World Veteran Wrestling Champion and 3 times Commonwealth Games Athlete.

Spaces are now available for new students (minimum age 7 years) to join our AKKG family!

All AKKG@ETKO classes are to be delivered by AKKG’s Head Coach, Danny Collins.

A little review of September!!

AKKG officially opened up on Thursday 3rd September in Newmachar, quickly followed by our new venue Kingswells Boxing Club in Stoneywood. We received a lot of positive feedback during our first week which was amazing.

Adam Milne then launched our third club on Tuesday 8th September at Martyn Paul Fitness in Dyce and although numbers are still limited due to COVID we are delighted that this class is full already!!

Then it was the return of Balmedie AKKG on Mondays at the leisure centre where, again, the class was hitting its maximum numbers and students were buzzing to be back.

We have a new venue in Stonehaven which opened at the end of September at the British Legion as well as a class in Gourdon with Lee Walker and both classes started off to a flyer!!

So, all-in-all not a bad start to our AKKG journey! 6 clubs in one month! The feedback we’re receiving is that everyone is buzzing after the classes and super excited to be back training!

Hopefully October brings more exciting times with another new venue, Blackburn AKKG, which is due to open on 27th October.

Adam, Lee and myself would like to thank you all for being part of our team !!

If there are any of our classes you are interested in joining, please get in touch. For more information visit our classes page.

AKKG Website Goes Live!!

Following a few months of planning, AKKG is excited and proud to announce the launch of our brand-new website – we hope you like it!

Our new site will tell our story of how AKKG came to be, give you clear details of the classes we run and a little insight into the team behind AKKG.

You may not know it, but we have been at the forefront of martial arts teaching in Aberdeen for over 20 years. With AKKG, we don’t intend to be the same as your average martial arts group. We strive to be a little bit different from the norm.

This website has been created to help us get our message to you.

It was important for us that the website not only showcased AKKG and the class timetables but that it reflected our team’s personality and truly represented who we are and what we are all about.

Now we did do some fairly extensive testing before launching, but if something isn’t right, please send us an email should you encounter any issues or even have some suggestions – we would love your feedback.

AKKG In House Competition

23rd February 2020

The Axis Centre in Newmachar was the venue for our first in house comp of 2020. Thirty five competitors attended the event all fighting at a very high standard, allowing the coaches to assess abilities and levels for external competitions this year.

A huge thanks goes to everyone involved in pulling these days together, including refs, time judges and first aiders. Your help is always appreciated.
